Elise Wortley
Elise Wortley is an explorer and as a Woman with Altitude, with an all-female team in tow, is bringing to life the incredible lost histories of female adventurers, by literally walking in their footsteps, using only what was available to them at the time.
Female adventurers have been overshadowed by their male counterparts throughout history but Elise's projects highlight these groundbreaking women's stories and achievements, with the hope to inspire women and girls today.
So she and her team can fully understand what life would have been like for those bygone female adventurers, Elise has been attempting to follow their journeys using and wearing only equipment that would have been available to them back in their day. That means NO modern expedition equipment whatsoever. To date, no one else has re-created these journeys in this way. This is the first time we will truly understand what these women experienced on their remarkable journeys.
